Business Equity for Indy

We convene business and community partners to foster inclusivity and economic opportunities for Black residents and people of color in the Indy Region.

Our Priorities

BEI advances racial equity by focusing on People, Procurement, and Policy.

The Central Indiana Corporate Partnership, Indy Chamber, Indianapolis Urban League, and BEI Member companies are partnering to develop innovative strategies, scale real projects, and track data to drive results for Black and Brown individuals and businesses in the Indy Region.

Addressing the hiring, advancement, skills development, and health and wellbeing faced by Indy’s Black residents and other people of color.

Aims to increase the launch, growth, and success of Black-owned enterprises.

Mobilize business and community leaders to advocate for policies that advance equity and opportunity for Black and Brown Hoosiers.

Peak Mind

BEI's influence on Peak Mind's workforce development hiring and recruiting policies, as well as accountability metrics, has been tremendous. Our ongoing pursuit of effective workforce strategies has been greatly aided by the timely and invaluable coaching provided by PWC. Without their guidance, we wouldn't have been able to access such invaluable resources. BEl has had a great impact on Peak Mind and our creation of workforce development hiring and recruiting policies, and accountability metrics. As we continue to developing effective workforce strategies the learning we received and up-to-date coaching from PWC was very timely and something we would not have otherwise had access too.

Girl Scouts of Central Indiana, Inc.

DEl has always been a part of our work at Girl Scouts of Central Indiana, but in 2022 we kicked it up a notch by engaging a consultant to review our hiring practices and conducted a culture survey. In 2023, we engaged Indiana Youth Group to provide training to our staff on the LGBTQ+ community. When the BEl program launched in 2023, we already had several DEl efforts in place. The BEl program helped us to prioritie, organize, and incorporate our work, and connected us with additional resources to further assist us on our journey.
