Celebrating Service: Indy’s 2025 Customer Service Week Activations

This October 6–10, Indianapolis joins communities around the world in observing Customer Service Week, a time to honor the individuals whose leadership, patience, and communication skills keep our businesses, organizations, and neighborhoods thriving.

Locally, the S.E.A. Leaders Training Institute is leading the charge with a week-long celebration designed to inspire, educate, and empower. Their 2025 theme, Mission Possible, reflects a belief that service is more than a job description—it’s a strategy for building stronger teams, stronger businesses, and stronger communities.

“Customer Service Week is about recognizing that service is leadership in action,” says Jennica Anderson, Founder & CEO of S.E.A. Leaders Training Institute. “The way we listen, respond, and show up for others is the foundation of how strong our businesses and communities can become.”

The Importance of Customer Service Week

Customer service professionals are often the first and most frequent points of contact for customers, clients, and community members. Their work builds trust, solves problems, and delivers the human touch in an increasingly digital world. Recognizing their contributions is more than a celebration; it’s an investment in the culture of excellence that drives Indiana’s economy.

For entrepreneurs and small business owners, service is also a differentiator. The ability to lead with empathy, communicate effectively, and create positive customer experiences determines not just day-to-day success but long-term growth.

“For small business owners especially, service isn’t just about resolving issues—it’s about building relationships that last,” Anderson adds. “Excellence in service is the key that opens doors to loyalty, referrals, and growth.”

A Week of Impactful Conversations

The S.E.A. Leaders Training Institute has curated a lineup of activations that put service, leadership, and communication front and center:

  • Trauma-Informed Leadership and Using AI in Service Without Losing the Human Touch on Monday, October 6, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Vibe to Voice: Teen Communication Lab (ages 12–18, dinner included), where youth will explore how communication can replace conflict with confidence and connection on Wednesday, October 8, from 6 to 8 p.m.
  • Entrepreneur Day: Service as a Strategy, designed for business owners and innovators ready to elevate service into a competitive advantage, taking place on Thursday, October 9, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Customer Service Week serves as a reminder that excellence in service is, in fact, excellence in leadership. Whether you are a professional working on the front lines, a business leader shaping customer experience, or a parent raising the next generation of communicators, this week offers tools, insights, and inspiration for everyone.

“Our mission is simple,” Anderson says. “We want every person who joins us this week to walk away with the belief that service is possible, excellence is achievable, and together we can build a stronger Indiana.”

Together, let’s celebrate service not only as a profession, but also as a pathway to a stronger, more connected Indiana. Reserve your seat now.
