Overview
Brief Program Summary: Through collaboration with the Indy Chamber, the City of Indianapolis,
and youth service provider partners, EmployIndy has developed Job Ready Indy (JRI) as a
clearinghouse for Marion County educators and workforce development providers to badge
students and job seekers who demonstrate the key competencies essential to excel in the
workforce. This set of competencies is aligned to Indiana’s Employability Skills and fine-tuned
based on input and validation from Indy-area employers. The six badges of Job Ready Indy
include Mindsets, Self-Management Skills, Learning Strategies, Social Skills, Workplace Skills,
and Launch a Career. Currently JRI curriculum is built to serve youth, but the EmployIndy team
is working to modify this curriculum for adults.
Success Metrics: Number of individuals who complete 1 or more badges or those who complete
all six badges and the job ready soft skills learned. In program year 2019, 291 individuals earned
all six JRI badges.
