Overview
Brief Program Summary: The Leading Informatics for Tomorrow (LiFT) Scholars program is a
multi-institutional program offered at the Indiana University School of Informatics and Computing
at IUPUI and the Ivy Tech Community College on the Indianapolis campus. Funded by the
National Science Foundation, the program seeks to increase the quality and quantity of
information technology (IT) professionals by offering scholarships to academically talented,
economically disadvantaged, and underrepresented minority high school graduates.
Success Metrics: LiFT’s scale and impact can be measured through student recruitment, student
retention, student graduation rates, scholarship funds awarded and alleviated financial burden,
student completion of certification or training programs, student academic performance, student
participation in high impact practices, and student engagement in leadership roles within the
school and community.
