Brief Program Summary: Founded by Purdue University and the City of Indianapolis in
partnership with community, industry and academic leaders, Purdue Polytechnic High School
(PPHS) prepares students to succeed in technical, STEM-related post-secondary programs and
high-tech careers. PPHS inspires students to pursue their passion through the lens of science,
technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), hands-on and project-based learning, industry
partnerships and a flexible, personalized learning environment.
Success Metrics: Purdue Polytechnic High School (PPHS) had its first graduating class in 2021.
Out of 120 seniors, 48 were accepted to Purdue University, with more than half of those being
students of color. With this acceptance rate, PPHS has more than doubled the number of students
of color attending Purdue than the average number attending Purdue from IPS (with nearly 1,600
graduates in a year).
